The pictures have now been used in an edited model of an antique commercial for Tapal Tea, a Pakistani tea brand based totally in Karachi. In the original commercial, a female spy on a young couple is lovingly sipping tea on their balcony. The spoof video replaces the couple with Varthaman and has received tremendous popularity on Twitter, with many to start with believing it to be a true advert.
